For 1970 numerous changes came with the fuel-injected 1800E, which had the 1,986cc engine with Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and a revised camshaft, and produced 130 bhp without sacrificing fuel economy. Top speed was around 120 mph and acceleration from 0-62.1 mph took 9.5 seconds. In addition, the 1970 - 1973 models were the first 1800 with four-wheel disc brakes; till then the 1800 series had front discs and rear drums. This particular car was owned by a car collector in Sothern California from 2005 – 2012. He had Volvo Specialist - Hi Performance Auto Service in Torrance, California perform a complete engine rebuild with new and bigger fuel injection which gives this car 20 more horsepower. Other work performed was a complete repaint which included a complete strip of the old paint down to bare metal. A complete overhaul of the brake system and front suspension bushings was also performed.
