1969 MERCEDES BENZ 280SL ROADSTER - LOCATED AT THE BLACKHAWK COLLECTION IN DANVILLE, CALIFORNIA

1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL
ID # 1130441209788
Introduced in 1968 the new SL had many refinements over the prior two models (230 & 250 SL). A redesigned engine was built to meet the new US emission controls. The interior trim of the 280 SL was also more luxurious than that of the earlier models. There were about 24,000 of these cars built.
This all original car was sold new in Monrovia, CA to a Mrs. Doris Kneier. She kept the car for three years and then sold it to Neil Smith, also of southern California. From 1973 until 2008, Mr. Smith maintained the car. Many receipts show work preformed over the years to keep the car original and in excellent running condition. This car has been in California its whole life and having only three owners from new. The car comes with all of the original papers and handbook.
