1970 FORD THUNDERBIRD CUSTOM “THUNDERSTRUCK”

1970 Ford Thunderbird Custom
“Thunderstruck” 2015 SEMA Show Car
This drop-dead gorgeous Ford Thunderbird started life as a Steve Stanford rendering that took on a life of its own, and was built by Eddie’s Rods and Customs in Pueblo, Colorado. While overall it is an absolutely stunning ‘Bird, it’s more custom that you would believe at first. Look at the roofline: that is the fastback shape from the refreshed 1970. Instead of the ’70s beaked nose, you have the jet intake/hideaway headlight look of the 1967 model. The back half of the 1967 hood and fenders had to be massaged to fit the 1970 body. Immaculate from tip to tail, with a white interior that would make a Mopar restoration freak melt over and one of the most beautiful purple paint jobs I can think of ever, with paint supplied by D&S Paint Center, and paint and bodywork done by Wayne Saunders at Advanced Automotive Design in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Thunderstruck has a presence that comes naturally.
