1955 Jaguar XK140M Roadster
Chassis Number: A811257 Engine Number: G3076-8 Body Number: F11280 Gearbox Number: OSL484B Six years after the launch of the XK series came the XK 140. Jaguar had many stunning deluxe features as standard equipment. But it's more exhilarating performance was what set it apart from the competition. It could cover a standing quarter mile in 16.6 seconds and cruise comfortably at 100 MPH. Fitted with a dual-overhead cam, 6-cylinder (210 cu. in.), it developed 190 HP with its 4-speed transmission. Finished in white with red interior and a black top, this ultimate British sports car has been fully restored inside and out. The rack and pinion steering is tight and the tube shock absorbers give the car a comfortable ride and very strong handling. This car is also fitted with "special equipment" features including wire wheels and Moss fog lights. The XK legacy continued with outright victories at Le Mans in 1953, 1955, 1956 and 1957. This 24 hour grueling marathon is a true test of speed and endurance, the XK series proved to be the best.
